Our story

Built for ADHD brains, by people who have one

Wired & Grounded is a free resource for adults with ADHD who are done being told they just need more discipline. Here's what we're about, and where we come from.

What this is

A resource hub for the focus-curious

Wired & Grounded exists to answer the questions ADHD adults actually have — not the ones that end up in symptom checklists. Questions like: Why do I only work well under pressure? Why do I wake up exhausted no matter how long I sleep? Why does every productivity system work for exactly three days?

We publish quizzes, articles, and tools that approach ADHD through a lens of curiosity rather than pathology. Your brain isn't a broken version of a neurotypical one. It's a different operating system, with its own strengths, patterns, and failure modes — and understanding those patterns is more useful than shaming yourself for having them.

Everything here is free. There's no paywall, no subscription, and no ads. (How that's possible is explained below.)

Who we're writing for

Adults with ADHD who've outgrown the advice

Most ADHD content online is written for parents of kids with ADHD, or for people who were just diagnosed and are looking for a starting point. That content is valuable — but it leaves a gap.

There's a large population of adults who already know they have ADHD, have already read the basics, and are looking for something more specific. People who want to know why their particular flavor of ADHD shows up the way it does, not a generic list of "try making a schedule" tips.

That's who we write for. The adults who've already tried all the planners.

"ADHD doesn't look the same twice. The Surge, the paralysis, the hyperfocus that hijacks your afternoon — these are real, distinct patterns, and they deserve specific answers. We try to write content precise enough to actually be useful."

The connection to Everyday Dose

How this site is funded — no spin

Wired & Grounded is made possible by Everyday Dose — a mushroom coffee brand built around functional ingredients that support focus and calm energy. We (the people who run this site) also make Everyday Dose.

That connection is worth being clear about. We have a financial interest in Everyday Dose. When we mention it on this site, we benefit. We don't think that disqualifies the content — we genuinely believe in the product, or we wouldn't have built it — but you deserve to know the relationship exists.

🍄

What this means in practice: Everyday Dose may appear in articles and quiz result pages when it's genuinely relevant to the topic. Every time it does, we label it clearly: "From the team · Disclosure: we make this."

We do not pay for editorial placement. We do not alter our content conclusions to favor the product. If something works better for your ADHD brain than our coffee does, we'll say so.

We think the best version of this is a resource that's useful enough to stand on its own — where Everyday Dose feels like a natural recommendation from people who know the topic, not a hard sell buried in a quiz. If we do our job right, you find value here whether or not you ever buy anything.

How we approach content

Our editorial principles

🔬
Science-grounded, not science-washed

We cite real research and don't overstate what studies actually show. When the evidence is mixed or limited, we say so. We're not here to tell you mushrooms will cure your ADHD.

🗣️
No shame framing

We don't write headlines that imply ADHD is a flaw to fix. We describe ADHD traits as they are: patterns with tradeoffs, not moral failures with simple solutions.

📌
Specific over general

We prefer content that's precise enough to be actually useful. "Try getting better sleep" is not advice. We try to go further than that, even when it means acknowledging complexity.

🚫
Not medical advice

Nothing here is a substitute for working with a clinician. We write about patterns, tools, and science — not diagnoses or treatment plans. If you think you have ADHD and haven't been evaluated, please see a professional.

Disclosure policy

How we handle commercial relationships

In accordance with FTC guidelines, we disclose any material connection to products or brands mentioned on this site. Here's how that works in practice:

⚖️ Full disclosure statement

Everyday Dose: This site is funded by Everyday Dose, a mushroom coffee brand. The same team operates both. Whenever Everyday Dose is mentioned in content, it is labeled clearly with: "From the team · Disclosure: we make this."

No other paid placements: We do not accept sponsored posts, paid product mentions, or affiliate commissions for any other brand. If that changes, we will disclose it in the same way.

Quiz results: Quiz types and results are based on the quiz logic and scoring — they are not determined by commercial considerations. The product mention that may appear in a result page is editorially consistent regardless of which result you receive.

Medical disclaimer: Content on Wired & Grounded is for informational and entertainment purposes only. It is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider with questions about ADHD or any medical condition.

Start with a quiz

The fastest way to get something useful out of this site is to take one of the quizzes. They're free, quick, and actually specific.
